Humraaz s a registered charity and as such the Trustees are accountable under charity legislation for all aspects of its activities.

Charitable Objects

‘To primarily but not exclusively assist in the relief of women and their children from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic groups who have or are suffering or who are at risk of suffering domestic violence and forced marriage through the provision of support, education advice and accommodation and by such other charitable means as the Executive Committee think fit with the object of improving their conditions of life’.

The minimum time commitment is to attend regular Board meetings throughout the year. During your induction period you will be required to spend some time understanding the charity, meeting with the staff and service users and other trustees.

Each Trustee carries equal responsibility and by law must meet certain eligibility requirements, individually and collectively contributing to the effective management of the charity.  You will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the governance of Humraaz, directing and leading in your specialist area of work. You shall participate in team building and socials where relevant.
