JOB TITLE: Bi-Lingual Project Worker
CONTRACT / HOURS: Permanent / 36.25 hours per week Monday – Friday
SALARY: In the region of £23k per annum based on experience
LOCATION: Blackburn, Lancashire
ACCOUNTABLE TO: CEO
As a Project Worker you will provide high quality support and safety planning to women and children in crisis. This includes enabling women service users to access housing, welfare, benefits and legal advice. A key requirement is to provide personal welfare support and to ensure that women are provided with a safe, supportive and welcoming environment in accordance with Humraaz principles.
You will also be responsible for ensuring that practical and emotional support is provided to survivors of domestic violence in according to the organisation values, ensuring relevant documentation and case work records are maintained.
As part of your role you will empower service users, keeping their safety and that of their children central to our services. You will be involved in the settling process at the refuge, encouraging to build life skills through education and holistic approaches, followed by moving on to permanent accommodation.
Your role will include housing management to ensure safe, clean and efficient operation of the services.
We are looking for an individual who is proficient in spoken Urdu/Punjabi and is committed to providing refuge accommodation services and support, focused on the needs of survivors.

- Minimum 2 years’ experience is required
- An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate for this role
